Yes. For me, writing is integral to my survival. It’s my voice. My chance to be heard. To paraphrase Joan Didion, ‘Being a writer is the act of saying – Listen to me.’

Thanks Amanda. I feel as if this applies to me quite literally. I have survived a great deal over a long time. And now that I am getting relief from some debilitating problems I have started writing poetry. And actually some of them are quite good! At about age 8 or 9
I said I was going to be a poet. I have been aching to write and perhaps my time is now arriving. I must be late starter!
