New edition of Elemental

UWA Publishing is releasing a new edition of Elemental for the Australia/New Zealand territory, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. It’s a new size and a new price—with a new cover, too. I confess I will miss the original image of my wee reid-heid, with her arresting stare, but I love this new, atmospheric vision for the novel…

I’m told the new edition will be in stores on 1 December but is available for ordering via the UWA Publishing website next week.

So pleased to hear this. The book deserves a much wider audience. When I told friends and family in the North East of Scotland that you were on tour a few weeks ago , several said they had already read Elemental. One Aberdeenshire friend had already discussed it in her book group. The consensus (from other women like me who had gutting quines as mothers and fishermen fathers )was that the book evoked beautifully and realistically the travail of these loons and quines. If there’s any justice in Oz , we’ll see and hear you at the Adelaide Writers Festival yet.

  5. Wonderful stuff, Amanda. FYI, I’ve been using a scene from Elemental in a new course I’m running on ‘Showing and Telling’ as it gives me the opportunity to promote the book to new readers 🙂

  6. Love this new cover Amanda…will look for it in the bookstores to add to my bookshelf…I read the eBook version. Always buy the hard copy of my favourite reads and Elemental is right up there as one of my all time favorites!
